Perbandingan Kadar Kalsium pada Wanita Premenopause dan Menopause sebagai Faktor Risiko Osteoporosis

ABSTRACT

 

Premenopausal is a physiological phase of women who have begun the aging process, which is characterized by decrease in levels of the hormone estrogen from the ovaries, which are important for sexual function and reproduction. Menopause is a condition in women that occurs naturally characterized by the cessation of the menstrual cycle due to the presence of a period of progressive ovarian failure characterized by an irregular cycle and a decrease in estrogen levels. Estrogen is a hormone that aids in the development of strong bones by keeping the balance between the osteoclast and osteoblast processes. It can also improve intestinal absorption of calcium and decrease renal excretion of calcium to maintain appropriate blood calcium levels. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on calcium levels in postmenopausal women as a risk factor for osteoporosis. This study compares calcium levels in premenopausal and menopausal women to identify potential osteoporosis risk factors. This study used a descriptive method with an analytical observational design. The subjects of the study in this study were 36 premenopausedan women, 36 menopausal women who met the criteria. The 36 premenopausal women, no decrease in calcium levels in the blood was obtained. However, in menopausal women there were 23 (63.8%) people who experienced a decrease in calcium levels in the blood. In addition, the average calcium level in premenopausal women was 8.9 mg / dL and menopausal women was 7.6 mg / dL. According to the study's findings, premenopausal women's calcium levels are significantly different from those of menopausal women, with a p value of (0.000).

ABSTRAK

 

Premenopause merupakan fase fisiologis pada wanita sebagai tanda awal dari proses penuaan (aging), hal ini dimulai dengan berkurangnya produksi hormon estrogen di ovarium yang berfungsi pada fungsi seksual dan reproduksi. Menopause merupakan suatu keadaan pada wanita yang terjadi secara alamiah dan ditandai dengan berhentinya siklus menstruasi yang disebabkan oleh adanya periode kegagalan ovarium secara progresif yang ditandai oleh siklus ireguler serta penurunan kadar hormon estrogen. Estrogen merupakan hormon yang membantu pembentukan tulang yang kuat, dengan menjaga keseimbangan proses osteoklas dan osteoblas, dapat memaksimalkan proses absorpsi kalsium di dalam usus dan menurunkan ekresi kalsium di ginjal sehingga kadar kalsium di dalam darah berada pada level normal. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian kadar kalsium pada wanita menopause sebagai faktor risiko osteoporosis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui perbandingan kadar kalsium pada wanita premenopause dan menopause sebagai faktor risiko osteoporosis. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan desain observasional analitik. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 36 wanita premenopause dan 36 wanita menopause yang memenuhi kriteria. Dari 36 wanita premenopause tidak diperoleh adanya penurunan kadar kalsium di dalam darah. Namun, pada wanita menopause terdapat 23 (63.8%) orang yang mengalami penurunan kadar kalsium di dalam darah. Selain itu, didapatkan rerata kadar kalsium pada wanita premenopause sebesar 8.9 mg/dL dan wanita menopause sebesar 7.6 mg/dL. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan terhadap kadar kalsium wanita premenopause dan wanita menopause dengan nilai p (0.000).
