Hubungan penerapan Teknik Brand Daroff Pada Pasien dengan Vertigo di Ruang Sulaiman 4 Rumah Sakit Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang

ABSTRACT

Vertigo is a symptom or feeling in which the environment around seems to be moving or spinning and usually accompanied by nausea and loss of balance. The Brandt-Daroff's non-pharmacological management is a form of physical therapy to treat vestibular disorders such as vertigo. The purpose of this therapy is to help vertigo sufferers adapt to the balance disorder. It has the effect of increasing blood to the brain so that it can improve the function of the body's balance organs and maximize the work of the sensory system. This study aims to determine the influence of the Brand Daroff technique on pain in vertigo with patients. This research was a case study in a patient with vertigo at Sulaiman Ward at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital, Semarang. The intervention given in this study was the Brandt-Daroff exercise to reduce pain. In this study, the results showed that there was a positive effect of Brandt Daroff exercise in reducing pain in a vertigo patient. The pain scale on the first day was 7, 6 on the second day, 5 on the third day, and 3 on the fourth day. There was a positive effect of Bandt-Daroff exercise to reduce pain in vertigo patients. It is expected the hospital can implement this non-pharmacological therapy as a nursing care for vertigo patients.

ABSTRAK

Vertigo adalah suatu gejala atau perasaan dimana seseorang atau benda disekitar seolah-olah bergerak atau berputar, biasanya disertai dengan mual dan kehilangan keseimbangan. Penatalaksanaan non farmakologi Brand Daroff salah satu bentuk terapi fisik untuk mengatasi gangguan vestibular seperti vertigo. Tujuan latihan Brand Daroff untuk mengadaptasikan pasien terhadap gangguan keseimbangan pada penderita vertigo. Latihan brand daroff memberikan efek peningkatan darah ke otak sehingga dapat memperbaiki fungsi alat keseimbangan tubuh dan memaksimalkan kerja dari sistem sensori. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pemberian teknik Brand Daroff terhadap nyeri pada pasien vertigo. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus pada pasien dengan vertigo di ruang Sulaiman 4 RS Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang. Intervensi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini teknik brand daroff untuk menurunkan nyeri. Pada penelitian ini dapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat pengaruh pada terapi brand  daroff dalam menurukan nyeri pada pasien vertigo. Dimana skala nyeri pada hari pertama 7, hari kedua 6, pada hari ketiga 5 dan pada hari keempat menjadi 3. Terdapat pengaruh pemberian brand daroff untuk menurunkan nyeri pada pasien vertigo. Diharapkan pihak lahan praktik atau rumah sakit dapat mengimplementasikan terapi non-farmakologis teknik brand daroff dalam memberikan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien vertigo
