ABSTRACT

Mental health issues among students are a serious concern in an effort to improve their psychological well-being. Lack of knowledge about mental health can be a barrier in identifying and managing such problems. This study aims to determine the effect of health education programs on students' knowledge of mental health in the school environment. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a sample of students involved in a health education program with one group. The intervention carried out is health education. The sample used was 40 students. Data analysis using univariate analysis and Wilcoxon test. The results show that the average knowledge of students has increased significantly, from the pre-test score of 70 to 92 in the post-test. Wilcoxon test results show that there is a significant effect of health education on students' knowledge about mental health (p value=0.001). The significant increase in students' knowledge after attending the health education program highlights the effectiveness of the intervention. Practical implications and future research directions are also discussed to increase the positive impact on students' overall mental health.
