Pengaruh Menopause terhadap Xerostomia pada Wanita di Posbindu Puskesmas Bojong Nangka, Kabupaten Tangerang

ABSTRACT
The study objective was to explore the symptoms of xerostomia and the relationship between xerostomia and menopause in a group of women at Posbindu, Bojong Nangka Health Center, Tangerang. A cross-sectional study was carried out in 147 women with a mean age of 49 ± 4,2 years (range, 40–60 years). Samples were analyzed as menopause and non menopause women. Questionnaires and clinical examination of saliva viscosity were carried out to determine xerostomia in respondents. Based on the questionnaire used, it was found that 81.6% of respondents experienced xerostomia, however after examination only 36.7% of the samples had thick saliva viscosity. There was a significant relation (p < 0,05) between menopause and xerostomia PR = 1.67 after controlling other variables using logistic regression. Based on this research it can be concluded that menopause effect on occurrence of xerostomia.

ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gejala xerostomia serta hubungan antara xerostomia dengan menopause pada sekelompok wanita di Posbindu Puskesmas Bojong Nangka, Tangerang. Sebuah studi cross-sectional dilakukan pada 147 wanita dengan usia rata-rata 49 ± 4,2 tahun (40-60 tahun). Sampel dianalisis sebagai wanita menopause dan tidak menopause. Kuesioner dan pemeriksaan klinis viskositas saliva telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui xerostomia pada responden. Berdasarkan kuesioner yang digunakan diketahui bahwa 81,6% responden mengalami xerostomia, namun setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan hanya 36,7% sampel yang mempunyai kekentalan saliva. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (p < 0,05) antara menopause dengan xerostomia PR = 1,67 setelah dikontrol variabel lain dengan menggunakan regresi logistik. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa menopause berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya xerostomia.
