Analisis Persepsi Pasien Diabetes Melitus terhadap Penyakitnya dengan Efikasi Diri di Puskesmas Bunut, Provinsi Lampung

ABSTRACT

In Indonesia, the DM case increased significantly over the year, which was ranked in the 5th place, a climb up from 2019, when Indonesia was in the 7th place. Self-efficacy and perceptions about DM become an issue that often occurs among DM sufferers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the perception of diabetes mellitus patients towards their disease and their self-efficacy in going to the UPTD Bunut Health Center. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach, with the independent variable being the perception of diabetes mellitus patients towards their disease, and the dependent variable being self-efficacy. the population in this study was diabetes mellitus patients at the UPTD Bunut Health Center, using a sampling technique that is total sampling. This study recruited a sample size of 73 respondents and was carried out on April 24-25, 2025. The analysis with the Chi-Square check found a p value = 0.001, which indicates a significant relationship between the patient perceptions of their disease with their self-efficacy of DM. By the study, we hoped that respondents could improve their perceptions and the importance of self-efficacy towards their disease; therefore, they can increase awareness and ability to comply with the treatment process.

ABSTRAK

Di Indonesia, kasus DM meningkat signifikan dari tahun ke tahun, yaitu menduduki peringkat ke-5, naik dari tahun 2019, saat Indonesia berada di peringkat ke-7. Efikasi diri dan persepsi tentang DM menjadi masalah yang sering terjadi pada penderita DM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara persepsi pasien diabetes melitus terhadap penyakitnya dengan efikasi diri mereka dalam berobat ke UPTD Puskesmas Bunut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, dengan variabel bebasnya adalah persepsi pasien diabetes melitus terhadap penyakitnya dan variabel terikatnya adalah efikasi diri. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien diabetes melitus di UPTD Puskesmas Bunut, dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling. Penelitian ini merekrut 73 responden dan dilaksanakan pada 24-25 April 2025. Hasil analisi chi-square diperoleh nilai p = 0,001, yang menunjukkan hubungan signifikan antara persepsi pasien terhadap penyakitnya dan efikasi diri mereka terhadap DM. Dengan penelitian ini, kami berharap responden dapat memahami persepsi dan pentingnya efikasi diri terhadap penyakit mereka,  dengan demikian, mereka dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan kemampuan untuk mematuhi proses pengobatan.
