Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Perilaku Guru SD Islam Al-Hadiriah Pada Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut

ABSTRACT

 

Oral health depends on individual knowledge and awareness. Teachers, as individuals, influence children in every aspect, including maintaining oral health. Therefore, schoolteachers need to have a better understanding of oral health aspects. The purpose of this study was to assess teachers' knowledge, attitudes, and oral health behaviors at Al-Hadiriah Islamic Elementary School. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 60 teachers at Al-Hadiriah Islamic Elementary School. Data was analyzed using chi-square. Most schoolteachers had good knowledge of oral health (68.3%), and good attitudes (55%). In several aspects, teacher behavior was very good; however, regarding snacking, approximately 37 respondents (61.7%) reported snacking two or three times between meals. There was a significant relationship between incorrect toothbrushing times (not brushing after breakfast and before bed) and poor knowledge and attitudes. There is a significant need to improve oral health knowledge and attitudes among schoolteachers regarding various oral health problems and dental disease prevention so that they can be implemented in schools.

ABSTRAK

 

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut bergantung pada pengetahuan dan kesadaran individu. Guru sebagai individu memengaruhi anak-anak dalam setiap aspek, termasuk pemeliharaan kesehatan mulut. Oleh karena itu, guru sekolah perlu memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang aspek kesehatan mulut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut di kalangan guru SD Islam Al-Hadiriah. Studi potong lintang dilakukan pada 60 guru SD Islam Al-Hadiriah. Analisis data dengan menggunakan chi-square. Sebagian besar guru sekolah memiliki pengetahuan yang baik mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulut (68,3%) dan sikap yang baik sebesar 55%. Perilaku guru dalam beberapa aspek sangat baik; hanya dalam perilaku mengonsumsi camilan masih ada sekitar 37 responden (61,7%) yang mempunyai kebiasaan mengonsumsi camilan sekitar 2-3 kali di antara waktu makan. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara waktu sikat gigi yang salah (tidak sikat gigi setelah sarapan pagi dan malam sebelum tidur) dengan pengetahuan dan sikap yang kurang baik.  Ada kebutuhan yang sangat besar untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap kesehatan mulut di kalangan guru sekolah mengenai berbagai masalah rongga mulut dan pencegahan penyakit gigi.
