ABSTRACT

Cervical cancer is cancer that occurs in the cervix and is caused by the transmission of the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) virus. Several factors that cause low cervical cancer screening are pain and discomfort during screening such as VIA and Pap Smear, worry about the results of the examination, high prices, lack of knowledge and awareness for screening, and lack of husband and family support. Awareness and knowledge of women about the importance of screening is the biggest obstacle in doing the screening. This study aims to find out the description of the risk of cervical cancer in women using the SiNara (Indonesian Self-Risk Assessment For Cervical Cancer) instrument at Dasawisma 2 RT 23 RW 04 Taman Pondok Jati Geluran Sidoarjo. The design of this research is descriptive with the research population of mothers aged 30-65 years and married. The sampling technique used simple random sampling with a sample of 50 respondents. The instrument used in the research is the SiNara (Indonesian Self-Risk Assessment For Cervical Cancer) measuring instrument.  The results showed that most (84%) of the respondents were at risk for cervical cancer. From the results of this study, it is expected that mothers in RT 23 RW 04 Taman Pondok Jati Geluran Sidoarjo can do routine screening, then can also schedule to receive the HPV vaccine. RT RW, religious leaders, and policymakers can work together with the nearest hospital to be able to provide HPV vaccine services at affordable prices so that residents can receive the HPV vaccine
