DIABETES MELLITUS SEBAGAI SALAH SATU FAKTOR RISIKO TERJADINYA TUBERKULOSIS : LAPORAN KASUS PADA PEREMPUAN 60 TAHUN RIWAYAT DIABETES MELLITUS DENGAN DIAGNOSA TUBERKULOSIS PARU KASUS BARU

ABSTRAK

Tuberkulosis dan diabetes mellitus merupakan masalah kesehatan global dengan prevalensi yang tinggi serta menyebabkan berbagai morbiditas dan mortalitas. Diabetes mellitus merupakan faktor risiko untuk infeksi tuberkulosis, sementara tuberkulosis sendiri dapat mencetuskan atau memperburuk kondisi hiperglikemia. Artikel ini melaporkan sebuah kasus berupa perempuan lansia usia 60 tahun yang datang ke fasilitas layanan kesehatan primer dengan batuk persisten selama 1 bulan, disertai gejala klasik tuberkulosis lainnya seperti anoreksia, keringat malam, dan penurunan berat badan. Hasil tes cepat molekular untuk tuberkulosis memberikan hasil positif. Selain itu, pasien juga didiagnosis memiliki diabetes mellitus dari pemeriksaan gula darah sewaktu. Diabetes pada pasien tuberkulosis terkait dengan kegagalan terapi dan kejadian relaps tuberkulosis, sehingga diperlukan manajemen konkuren tuberkulosis dan diabetes untuk memperbaiki outcome secara keseluruhan.
