ABSTRACT

Hypertension is a cardiovascular disease that many elderly suffer. Physical limitations experienced by the elderly, sometimes cause the elderly to experience mental disorders such as stress. Resilience is associated with the mechanism of adaptation of the elderly in the face of something unpleasant, including chronic diseases suffered such as hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between resilience and stress levels of elderly people with hypertension. The method in this study is correlational analytics using a Cross Sectional approach, the instruments in this study are The Brief Resilience Scale and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). There is a negative relationship between resilience and stress of elderly people with hypertension with p 0.037 where the higher a person's resilience, the lower the stress felt. resilience in the elderly is related to stress, therefore the elderly need complementary therapies that can be given to the elderly to increase resilience

ABSTRAK

Hipertensi merupakan penyakit kardiovaskuler yang banyak diderita lansia. Keterbatasan fisik yang dialami oleh lansia, terkadang menyebabkan lansia mengalami masalah gangguan mental seperti stres. Resiliensi dikaitkan dengan mekanismje adaptasi lansia dalam menghadapi sesuatu yang tidak menyenangkan, termasuk penyakit kronis yang diderita seperti hipertensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan resiliensi dengan tingkat stres lansia penderita hipertensi. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah analitik korelasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross Sectional, instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah  The Brief Resilience Scale dan Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Terdapat hubungan negatif antara resiliensi dengan stress lansia penderita hipertensi dengan p 0,037 dimana semakin tinggi resiliensi seseorang maka stress yang dirasakan akan semakin rendah. resiliensi pada lansia berhubungan dengan stres, maka dari itu lansia perlua danya terapi komplementer yang dapat diberikan kepada lansia untuk meningkatkan resiliensi.
