ABSTRACT

Cancer is a health problem and cause of death in the world. Cancer is a disease characterized by the growth of abnormal cells and can metastasize to other parts of the body. One of the therapeutic modalities is chemotherapy. Chemotherapy has a therapeutic effect on cancer cells and also has an impact on normal cells that divide rapidly. Chemotherapy causes various side effects that can affect the patient's physical and non-physical condition. Physical and non-physical changes in patients undergoing chemotherapy affect the patient's quality of life. The aim of the research was to determine the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This research is a descriptive analytical study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were cancer patients who were undergoing chemotherapy in the chemotherapy service unit of RSUD Jend. Ahmad Yani Metro. The sample in this study were cancer patients treated in the chemotherapy service unit at Jend Hospital. Ahmad Yani Metro numbered 35 respondents. Determining the number of samples using quota sampling. The data collection tool uses the EORTC QLQ-C30 instrument. The quality of life results for cancer patients are based on the assessment or answer score of the EORTC QLQ-C30. The quality of life score is 671.73 ± 352.82 with a moderate quality of life interpretation. Conclusion: The patient's quality of life is in the moderate category.

ABSTRAK

Kanker merupakan masalah kesehatan dan penyebab kematian di dunia. Kanker merupakan penyakit yang ditandai dengan pertumbuhan  sel-sel abnormal  dan dapat bermetastase  ke bagian tubuh lain. salah satu modlaitas terapi adalah kemoterapi. Kemoterapi memberikan efek terapi pada sel-sel kanker juga berdampak pada sel-sel  normal yang membelah dengan cepat. Kemoterapi menimbulkan berbagai efek samping yang dapat mempengaruhi kondisi fisik maupun non fisik pasien. Perubahan fisik dan non fisik pada pasien yang menjalani kemoterapi mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Tujuan penelitian  untuk megetahui  kualitas hidup pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi. Penelitian   ini   merupakan   penelitian   deskriptif  analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah pasien kanker yang sedang menjalani  kemoterapi di unit pelayanan  kemoterapi RSUD Jend. Ahmad Yani Metro. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien kanker yang dirawat di unit pelayanan kemoterapi RS Jend. Ahmad yani Metro berjumlah 35 responden. Penentuan jumlah sampel dengan quota    sampling.  Alat  pengumpul  data  menggunakan instrument EORTC  QLQ-C30. Hasil  kualitas hidup pasien kanker berdasarkan penilaian atau skor jawaban EORTC QLQ-C30 Skor kualitas hidup sebesar 671,73±352,82 dengan interpretasi kualitas hidup sedang. Kesimpulan kualitas hidup pasien kategori sedang.
