Peran Fasilitas Pelayanan Kesehatan dalam Pencegahan Penyakit Hipertensi di Daerah Pedesaan: Literature Review
Sari
ABSTRACT
The issue of hypertension in rural areas has become an important concern due to its increasing prevalence, which is linked to lifestyle changes, dietary patterns, and limited access to healthcare services. This study aims to explore the role of healthcare facilities in preventing hypertension in rural areas. The design used was a Literature Review, with articles collected from PubMed and Scopus databases from 2019 to 2024. The keywords used were hypertension, rural population, primary health care, prevention, control, health behavior, mass, quality improvement, government regulation, and health status. Based on the nine articles collected, five articles indicated that the prevalence of hypertension in rural areas remains high and poorly controlled. The remaining four articles showed a reduction or good control of hypertension, influenced by several factors: receiving interventions or special attention from doctors or nurses (with adequate human resources), social support, good sleep quality, lifestyle modifications, improved health education and knowledge, and the use of health technologies. Recommendations for healthcare providers include prioritizing hypertension prevention and management, particularly in rural areas. There is a need to improve facilities, provide training for medical staff, and raise public awareness about the importance of hypertension prevention and treatment.
