Pengaruh Video Edukasi Terhadap Pengetahuan Dan Kepatuhan Minum Obat pada Penderita Tuberkulosis Paru DIRSUD Sultan Suriansayah Banjarmasin

ABSTRACT

 

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global health issue, particularly in developing countries, and treatment adherence is crucial to prevent drug resistance. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of educational video interventions on knowledge and medication adherence among pulmonary TB patients at RSUD Sultan Suriansyah Banjarmasin. A quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design was employed involving 88 pulmonary TB patients. Data on knowledge and adherence were collected before and after video-based educational interventions and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The findings showed a significant increase in both knowledge and adherence after the intervention. Positive ranks dominated with Z = -7.597 (p < 0.05) for knowledge and Z = -8.175 (p < 0.05) for adherence, indicating that video education effectively improved patients’ understanding and compliance with anti-TB treatment. Educational videos are an effective, flexible, and accessible tool to enhance knowledge and adherence in TB patients, supporting successful therapy outcomes and reducing the risk of drug resistance.

ABSTRAK

 

Tuberkulosis (TB) paru masih menjadi masalah kesehatan global, dan kepatuhan pengobatan merupakan faktor penting untuk mencegah resistensi obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh video edukasi terhadap pengetahuan dan kepatuhan minum obat pada pasien TB paru di RSUD Sultan Suriansyah Banjarmasin. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental pre-test dan post-test dengan 88 pasien TB paru. Data mengenai pengetahuan dan kepatuhan dikumpulkan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi video edukasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan dan kepatuhan pasien setelah intervensi. Dominasi positive ranks dengan nilai Z = -7,597 (p < 0,05) untuk pengetahuan dan Z = -8,175 (p < 0,05) untuk kepatuhan menunjukkan bahwa video edukasi efektif meningkatkan pemahaman dan kepatuhan pasien terhadap pengobatan. Video edukasi terbukti sebagai alat yang efektif, fleksibel, dan mudah diakses untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kepatuhan pasien TB, sehingga mendukung keberhasilan terapi dan menurunkan risiko resistensi obat.
