ABSTRACT

Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) is one of the important indicators of hospital service quality, so documenting HAIs prevention bundles consistently becomes a crucial part of nursing practice. Poor documentation can have an impact on increased risk of infection and decreased patient safety. This study aims to analyze the influence of the caring dimension and nurse behavior system on the documentation of HAIs prevention bundles and identify the dominant factors that influence them. This study used an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was nurses in the inpatient unit as many as 40 respondents. Data analysis included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using logistic regression. The results of bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between several dimensions of caring and nurse behavior systems with the documentation of bundle HAIs. However, the results of the multivariate analysis showed that  the ingestive dimension  was a simultaneous dominant factor for the documentation of HAIs bundles with the influence of  the good category of ingestive factors. This study shows that the success  of documenting HAIs prevention bundles is influenced by various interacting factors, with the ingestive dimension as the main determinant. Therefore, improving the quality of documentation of HAIs bundles needs to be focused on strengthening the cognitive abilities and professional awareness of nurses through continuous training, clinical supervision, and strengthening the culture of patient safety in hospitals.
