ABSTRACT

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that attacks the respiratory system and is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  Transmission that occurs can be through various ways, such as direct contact with the patient or through indirect  contact such as contact with surfaces, goods, and hands. A person who has been contaminated with secretions and then  accidentally  used to touch his own mouth, eyes, or nose.  The clinical manifestations that occur after a person is infected there are varying degrees. Based on the severity of the case, COVID-19 is classified into 5, namely without symptoms, mild symptoms, moderate symptoms, severe symptoms or severe pneumonia, and critical. In someone who experiences severe and critical degrees, convalescent plasma therapy may be considered because it is thought to decrease clinical symptoms. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship of convalescent plasma therapy with the recovery of COVID-19 patients with severe and critical symptoms at Central General Hospital (RSUP) Dr. Kariadi, Semarang. This study is an observational analytical study using cross-sectional design (cut latitude). This study was conducted by looking at medical record data of COVID-19 patients treated at the ICU of Dr. Kariadi Central General Hospital, Semarang. The results of the chi-square analysis  showed a p-value of  0.233 (p-value >0.05) which means that there is no convalescent plasma  therapy relationship with the recovery of COVID-19  patients with severe and critical symptom in Central General Hospital (RSUP) Dr.  Kariadi, Semarang.
