ABSTRACT

The age group that is quite affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is the elderly group. WHO states that more than 95% of deaths occur in elderly covid survivors over the age of 60 years with details of 8 out of 10 deaths occurring in individuals with at least one underlying comorbidity, especially the elderly with cardiovascular disease / hypertension, diabetes, and various other chronic diseases (World Health Organization, 2020). Health problems with potentially dangerous in elderly covid 19 survivors are the elderly with diabetes, heart disease, blood clotting problems, and various other chronic diseases. The family is the most important part in dealing with the covid-19 problem to provide support and motivation for family members who are exposed to covid-19, especially the elderly. The purpose of this study is to gain an in-depth understanding of the meaning and meaning of family experiences with elderly covid 19 survivors having comorbidities in meeting biopsychoso and spiritual needs. Qualitative design research methods use a descriptive phenomenological approach. The results of this study are that there are four themes, namely the burden on families while caring for the elderly covid 19, the impact that occurs while caring for the elderly who experience Covid 19, carrying out family health care functions while caring for the elderly who experience Covid 19, family expectations while caring for the elderly who experience Covid-19 Families in caring for Covid-19 patients with an elderly age coupled with comorbidities have their own burdens for the family and remain  treating Covid-19 patients with support from other families and looking for information for patient recovery in the hope that families can choose the right information related to Covid-19, so that there are no confusing assumptions about Covid-19.
