Pengaruh Terapi Swedish Massage dalam Menurunkan Tekanan Darah pada Pasien Hipertensi : Sebuah Narrative Review

ABSTRACT

 

Currently, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapy is very popular with people with hypertension. This is because the community considers that pharmacological treatment of hypertension is considered expensive and has many side effects. Swedish Massage therapy (SMT) is one of the traditional therapies that is beneficial for people with hypertension. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of swedish massage therapy in reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The design used was a narrative review. Databases used consisted of Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. The formulation of this article review was used the PCC (Population, Concept, Context) technique with the literature search keywords used in the Indonesian language being “Pasien Hipertensi” AND “Tekanan Darah” AND “Terapi Swedia” while the English keywords were “Hypertension Patients” AND “Blood Plessure” AND “Swedish Massage”. The results obtained as many as 5 articles were analyzed according to the research topic. Based on the analyzed articles, SMT can be performed in a lying position and starts from the legs and then to the thighs, waist, back, hands, shoulders, neck, head and face. In addition, it can also start from the neck to the back (from the shoulders to the lumbar area). SMT can be carried out for one hour, 20 minutes or 10 minutes. The duration of SMT is twice a day for five consecutive days, every week for four weeks or for two days per week. Based on the articles analyzed, there were a decrease in systolic blood pressure (TDS) and diastolic blood pressure (TDD). Swedish massage therapy (SMT) has an effect on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

ABSTRAK

 

Saat ini, terapi komplementer dan pengobatan alternatif sangat digemari oleh penderita hipertensi. Hal ini karena masyarakat menganggap bahwa penanganan hipertensi secara farmakologis dianggap mahal dan memiliki banyak efek samping. Swedish Massage therapy (SMT) merupakan salah satu terapi tradisional yang bermanfaat bagi penderita hipertensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari terapi swedish massage dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi. Desain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah narrative review. Databases yang digunakan terdiri dari Google Scholar, Pubmed, dan Science Direct. Perumusan telaah artikel ini menggunakan teknik PCC (Population, Concept, Context) dengan kata kunci pencarian literatur yang digunakan dalam bahasa Indonesia adalah “Pasien Hipertensi” AND “Tekanan Darah” AND “Terapi Swedia” sedangkan kata kunci bahasa Inggris adalah “Hypertension Patients” AND “Blood Plessure” AND “Swedish Massage”. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebanyak 5 artikel yang dianalisis sesuai dengan topik penelitian. Berdasarkan artikel yang dianalisis, SMT dapat dilakukan dalam posisi berbaring dan dimulai dari kaki lalu ke paha, pinggang, punggung, tangan, bahu, leher, kepala dan wajah. Selain itu, bisa juga dimulai dari leher ke belakang (dari bahu ke area lumbal). SMT dapat dilakukan selama satu jam, 20 menit maupun 10 menit. Lama dilakukannya SMT yaitu dua kali sehari selama lima hari berturut-turut, setiap minggu selama empat minggu maupun selama dua hari per minggu. Berdasarkan artikel yang dianalisis, terdapat penurunan pada tekanan darah sistolik (TDS) dan tekanan darah diastolik (TDD). Swedish massage therapy (SMT) memiliki pengaruh terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi.
