Efektivitas Sintesis Cao Nanopartikel dengan Bawang Putih (Allium Sativum L.) sebagai Antibakteri

ABSTRACT

 

Skin infections are a common health problem caused by pathogenic bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis are two common causes. Staphylococcus aureus is particularly dangerous and can cause abscesses, impetigo, and cellulitis, while Staphylococcus epidermidis is often involved in infections in immunocompromised individuals or infections associated with medical devices. Controlling these infections is essential to prevent serious complications. This study aims to investigate the antibacterial activity of a mixture of CaO nanoparticles and garlic extract against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and to determine the most effective concentration for inhibiting these bacteria. The research involved the green synthesis of CaO nanoparticles using garlic extract. The antibacterial activity was tested using the well diffusion method against both bacteria. Characterization of the nanoparticles was conducted using XRD, SEM, and FTIR analyses. The results indicated that the mixture of CaO nanoparticles with garlic extract exhibited significant antibacterial activity against both Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The most effective concentration was identified, showing a higher inhibition zone compared to pure CaO and garlic extract alone. The study concludes that the Green synthesis of CaO nanoparticles using garlic extract is a promising approach to develop natural antibacterial agents for the treatment of skin infections.

ABSTRAK

 

Infeksi kulit adalah masalah kesehatan umum yang disebabkan oleh bakteri patogen. Staphylococcus aureus dan Staphylococcus epidermidis adalah dua bakteri yang sering menjadi penyebab utama. Staphylococcus aureus sangat berbahaya dan dapat menyebabkan abses, impetigo, dan selulitis, sedangkan Staphylococcus epidermidis sering terlibat dalam infeksi pada individu dengan kekebalan tubuh lemah atau infeksi terkait peralatan medis.Pengendalian infeksi ini sangat penting untuk mencegah komplikasi serius. Untuk menginvestigasi aktivitas antibakteri campuran nanopartikel CaO dan ekstrak bawang putih terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Staphylococcus epidermidis, serta menentukan konsentrasi paling efektif untuk menghambat bakteri tersebut. Penelitian melibatkan sintesis hijau nanopartikel CaO menggunakan ekstrak bawang putih. Aktivitas antibakteri diuji menggunakan metode difusi sumuran terhadap kedua bakteri kemudian di Karakterisasi nanopartikel dilakukan menggunakan analisis XRD, SEM, dan FTIR. Campuran nanopartikel CaO dengan ekstrak bawang putih memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang signifikan terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Konsentrasi paling efektif teridentifikasi, menunjukkan zona hambat yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan CaO murni dan ekstrak bawang putih saja. sintesis hijau nanopartikel CaO menggunakan ekstrak bawang putih adalah pendekatan yang menjanjikan untuk mengembangkan agen antibakteri alami untuk perawatan infeksi kulit.
