Analisis Perbandingan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) dan Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Evoo) terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah pada Tikus Putih (Rattus Norvegicus) Obesitas Hiperglikemik

ABSTRACT
Hyperglycemia is a condition where blood sugar levels exceed normal, often the first sign of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Obesity, as one of the main causes of diabetes, is increasing globally and is becoming a significant risk factor. VCO is known to contain medium-chain fatty acids and antioxidant compounds such as tocopherols and tocotrienols, while EVOO is rich in phenolic compounds that have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Both oils are thought to have the potential to improve hyperglycemia conditions through antioxidant effects and improved pancreatic beta cell function. To determine the effects of VCO and EVOO on blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic obese white rats (Rattus norvegicus) based on a research study. This study is a type of true experimental pre and post control research using 24 wistar strain white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which were divided into 4 groups, namely negative control group 1, negative control group 2, VCO group and EVOO group. In the negative control group 1, negative 2 and VCO, there were no significant changes in blood glucose levels before and after the intervention. Whereas, the group given EVOO had a significant decrease in blood glucose levels after the intervention. In One-Way ANOVA test, the difference was significant after intervention for 7 and 14 days. A higher reduction in blood glucose levels was found in the EVOO group compared to the VCO group and the control group, indicating that EVOO is more effective in reducing blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic obese white rats. Giving Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is more effective than Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in reducing blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic obese white rats.

ABSTRAK
Hiperglikemia merupakan kondisi kadar gula darah yang melebihi normal, sering kali menjadi tanda awal resistensi insulin dan diabetes melitus tipe 2. Obesitas, sebagai salah satu penyebab utama diabetes, semakin meningkat secara global dan menjadi faktor risiko signifikan. VCO dikenal memiliki kandungan asam lemak rantai sedang serta senyawa antioksidan seperti tokoferol dan tokotrienol, sementara EVOO kaya akan senyawa fenolik yang memiliki sifat anti-inflamasi dan antioksidan. Kedua minyak ini diduga berpotensi memperbaiki kondisi hiperglikemia melalui efek antioksidan dan peningkatan fungsi sel beta pankreas. Untuk mengetahui efek pemberian dari VCO dan EVOO terhadap kadar glukosa darah pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) Obesitas hiperglikemi berdasarkan studi penelitian.Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian true experimental pre and post control dengan menggunakan hewan coba tikus putih galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus) sebanyak 24 ekor yang dibagi ke dalam 4 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif 1, kelompok kontrol negatif 2, kelompok VCO dan kelompok EVOO. Pada kelompok kontrol negatif 1, negatif 2 dan VCO, tidak terdapat perubahan signifikan pada kadar glukosa darah sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Sedangkan, kelompok yang diberikan EVOO terdapat penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang signifikan setelah intervensi. Pada uji One-Way ANOVA perbedaan signifikan setelah intervensi selama 7 dan 14 hari. Penurunan kadar glukosa darah lebih tinggi ditemukan pada kelompok EVOO dibandingkan kelompok VCO maupun kelompok kontrol, menunjukkan bahwa EVOO lebih efektif dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada tikus putih obesitas hiperglikemik. Pemberian Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) lebih efektif dibandingkan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada tikus putih obesitas hiperglikemik.
