Pengaruh Edukasi Berbasis Aplikasi Android “SEDIA” dalam Meningkatkan Self Efficacy Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 di Kota Kupang

ABSTRACT

 

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic and progressive disease that causes quite serious complications in sufferers. One of the causes of the high number of complications is the lack of self-confidence in the ability of sufferers to carry out the 5 pillars of diabetes care independently optimally, which is related to the incidence of illness and also the quality of life of sufferers. One effort to increase self-efficacy is through providing education as a basis for forming perceptions that help sufferers adopt certain behaviors for their health. This study used a quantitative Quasi Experimental method with a Pretest and Posttest two Group Design research design, to analyze the effectiveness of the SEDIA application in increasing the self-efficacy of T2DM sufferers. Results: After respondents in the intervention group used the application for one month, there was an increase in self-efficacy among respondents in the control group. A total of 14 respondents (56%) felt confident in performing self-care at home, while 11 respondents (44%) felt doubtful. The Wilcoxon Sign Rank test showed a p value of 0.002 with an α value of 0.05. A p value < α indicates that H0 is rejected, which indicates that the Android application-based educational program "SEDIA" significantly increases the self-efficacy of T2DM patients. = In general, education provided by health workers is still conventional, namely in the form of printed materials and demonstrations. The Diabetes Health Education Application (SEDIA) is an Android-based application that can be used as a tool to support health promotion and support for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

 ABSTRAK

 

Diabetes mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit kronis dan progresif yang menyebabkan komplikasi cukup serius pada pasien. Salah satu alasan masih tingginya kasus komplikasi adalah kurangnya kepercayaan diri pasien akan kemampuannya untuk melakukan 5 pilar perawatan diabetes secara mandiri dengan optimal, yang berhubungan dengan angka kejadian sakit dan juga quality of life penderita. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri adalah melalui pemberian edukasi sebagai dasar pembentukan persepsi  yang membantu pasien mengadopsi perilaku tertentu bagi kesehatannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif Quasi Eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Pretest and Posttest two Group Design, untuk menganalisa efektivitas aplikasi SEDIA dalam meningkatkan self efficacy pasien DMT2. Setelah responden kelompok intervensi menggunakan aplikasi selama 1 bulan, terjadi peningkatan self efficacy responden kelompok kontrol sebanyak 14 responden (56%) yakin melakukan perawatan mandiri di rumah, sedangkan terjadi penurunan responden yang merasa tidak yakin sebanyak 11 orang (44%). Hasil uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test menunjukkan hasil nilai p= 0,002 dengan nilai α= 0,05 didapatkan nilai p<α maka H0 ditolak yang berarti ada pengaruh edukasi berbasis aplikasi android “SEDIA” dalam meningkatkan self efficacy pasien DMT2. Pada umumnya edukasi yang diberikan tenaga kesehatan masih secara konvensional menggunakan bahan cetak dan demostrasi, tanpa adanya efek stimulasi suara dan gerak.  Aplikasi Edukasi Sehat Diabetes (SEDIA) merupakan aplikasi berbasis android yang dapat digunakan sebagai sarana penunjang media promosi kesehatan dan dukungan bagi penderita diabetes mellitus tipe 2.
