Tren Global dan Perkembangan Electronic Medical Record : Analisis Bibliometrik 2001-2026
Sari
ABSTRACT
Studies analysis on Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in nursing are critically important for systematically mapping the evolution, structure, and intellectual foundations of research in this rapidly expanding field. Evidence from analyses demonstrates a consistent growth in EMR related nursing publications over the past two decades, reflecting increasing scholarly attention to digital documentation, clinical decision support, and nursing informatics as essential components of contemporary healthcare systems. This study aims to map the development of Electronic Medical Record research in nursing documentation, with a particular focus on publication trends, implementation benefits, challenges, and future research directions. This study adopted a bibliometric methodology guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta analyses (PRISMA) framework. EMR related publications were systematically retrieved from the Scopus. The analysis included publication characteristics, annual publication growth, and keyword co occurrence patterns. Bibliometric network visualizations were employed to identify thematic research clusters and to examine the intellectual structure and interrelationships among major research topics within the EMR literature. The analysis revealed a significant increase in the number of EMR related publications over time, indicating growing global attention to this topic. Electronic medical record emerged as the most dominant keyword and was strongly associated with themes such as electronic health record, nursing, retrospective study, and healthcare settings including intensive care units and nursing homes. In addition, recent research trends demonstrate an increasing integration of EMRs with advanced analytics and machine learning to support clinical prediction and improve healthcare service quality. The identified studies primarily focused on patient safety, quality of care, geriatric care, and the use of EMRs in clinical decision making. This bibliometric analysis demonstrates that EMR research has evolved in a multidisciplinary manner and is increasingly oriented toward improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare services. These findings provide a strategic overview of the global EMR research landscape and may serve as a valuable reference for researchers, healthcare practitioners, and policymakers in guiding the future development and implementation of EMRs.
Keywords: Bibliometric Analysis, Electronic Medical Record, Nursing Documentation.
