ABSTRACT

Nomophobia (no mobile phone phobia), is an anxiety disorder as well as fear that arises when a person cannot use his or her Smartphone. Based on the DSM IV guidelines, nomophobia belongs to a specific category of phobias characterized by a significant and exaggerated anxiety response to specific situations. The term "nomophobia" was originally coined in a 2008 British postal service study revealing that 53% of ± 2000 participants (58% male and 47% female) suffered from nomophobia. In recent years, nomophobia has become a global health problem with high prevalence. The study involving 47,399 participants from 20 countries reported that about 20% of individuals experienced mild nomophobia, 50% experienced moderate nomophobia, and 20% experienced severe nomophobia, with a higher prevalence in college students and young adults, while the overall prevalence of nomophobia globally was reported to be 94%. This study aims to find out about nomophobia and its measurement methods. This study is a systematic review that is analyzed based on PRISMA flowchart to determine the inclusion study. This study uses inclusion criteria such as the study is available in full-text published in the last 5 years and is fully accessible and the study must be an original article. Studies written in languages other than Indonesian or English as well as literature review studies were excluded in this study. This study included 6 studies as eligible studies analyzed. This study shows that the NMP-Q questionnaire is used to analyze nomophobia and nomophobia conditions can cause anxiety, stress, phubbing behavior, intensive use of gadgets in a person. Nomophobia behavior can be measured using the NMP-Q questionnaire and can affect quality of life and daily activities.
