EFEKTIVITAS TABLET KOMBINASI EKSTRAK HERBA PEGAGAN (Centella asiatica L.) DAN EKSTRAK BROKOLI (Brassica oleracea L. Var. Italica) SEBAGAI ANTIDEMENSIA PADA MENCIT JANTAN (Mus musculus)

Background : Centella asiatica contains active compounds such as asiaticoside, asiatic acid, and flavonoids, while broccoli contains sulforaphane, glucosinolates, and flavonoids. These compounds exhibit antidementia activity by enhancing cognitive function, improving memory, and protecting neurons from oxidative damage.
Purpose : This study aimed to determine the effectiveness and optimal dosage of a combination tablet containing Centella asiatica herb extract and broccoli extract as an antidementia agent in male albino mice.
Methods : The research employed a preclinical experimental design using animal models and the Y-maze method. A total of 25 male mice were divided into five groups: dose I (2,73 mg/20 g body weight), dose II (5,46 mg/20 g body weight), piracetam (11,2 mg/20 g body weight) as the positive control, hyoscine butylbromide (0,03 mg/20 g body weight) as the negative control, and Na-CMC 0.35 mL/20 g body weight as the normal control. All treatments were administered orally for seven consecutive days. On day seven, the mice were subjected to the Y-maze test, and the percentage of spontaneous alternation.
