ABSTRACT

Bagolo is one of the beach tourism destinations in the Pangandaran region. Bagolo Coast is a natural habitat for seaweed and sea grass. Marine citizenship is the involvement of various groups of society to actively support the sustanability of the sea and its resources. The young generation plays a strategic role in long-term sustainable marine management. This community service activity (PKM) aimed to introduce maritime citizenship to elementary school students in Bagolo Village. The stages of community service activities consist of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of the interviews and observations during the preparatory stage were then formulated into a form of environmental education for 49 students in grades 4 and 5 at SDN 02 Bagolo. Environmental education activities consist of providing material and evaluating students' knowledge about type and the importance of biological resources on the Karapyak beach, making herbarium and preserving wet specimen. An indicator of goal achievement was the active involvement of students in the discussion process to evaluate understanding of the material and the process of making marine biota preservation. Further systematic and periodic environmental education program involving teachers and parents is needed so that students' knowledge can become part of the character development of caring the environment and the sea.
