ABSTRACT

The lifetime risk of diabetic patients suffering from injuries can reach 30%, and up to 85% of all lower limb amputations in diabetes are preceded by leg injuries. Up to 50% of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes have a risk factor for foot problems. Proper treatment of the diabetic wound is essential to prevent further complications. Modern wound care using TIMERS management principles and 3M as implementation is the best treatment option today. Conservative Sharp Wound Debridement (CSWD) is an effective debridement option in wound healing. The purpose of the research is to analyze the results of modern wound treatment with the use of CSWD techniques as a debridement. Research methods include interviews and observations. The samples used were two clients, Mr. H and Mrs. S, using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tools (BWAT). The result of this study is that the use of CSWD in debridemen effectively helps in the wound healing process. The conclusion of this study is that using the CSWD technique effectively reduces necrotic tissue and is able to help in the wound recovery process.
