ABSTRACT

The prevalence of treating chronic wounds with epibole is problematic, especially when the problem is not promptly identified or the patient is intolerant of modern dressing treatments, it is thought that the incidence of ulceration is increasing as a result of an aging population and increasing risk factors for atherosclerosis such as smoking, obesity, and diabetes. For a lifetime, almost 10% of the population will experience chronic wounds, with a wound-related death rate of 2.5%. In chronic wounds, problems with the epithelial edge healing process are disturbed so that the wound healing process takes longer, this is caused by a known clinical condition as epibole. Epiboles tend to be more different in color than the surrounding tissue, have an enlarged, rounded appearance, may feel hard, and are stiff. Goal to prevent and treat epibole injuries. Research Method Case Study. The prevalence of treating chronic wounds with epibole is a problem if the problem is not identified promptly or does not provide appropriate wound care, it is thought that the incidence of ulceration is increasing as a result of the aging population and increasing risk factors for atherosclerosis such as smoking, obesity, and diabetes. In dealing with epibole, several precautions and treatments can be carried out, including treating wounds with dressings and appropriate measures.
