Program Pemeriksaan Fungsi Paru Dengan Peak Flow Meter pada Komunitas Olahraga Pernapasan Abhinaya di Kelurahan Antapani Kidul, Bandung

ABSTRAK

 

Seiring bertambahnya usia, fungsi paru dapat menurun akibat penurunan imunitas serta perubahan dalam struktur dan elastisitas jaringan. Faktor risiko seperti riwayat penyakit, kebiasaan merokok, dan paparan polusi udara dapat memperburuk kesehatan paru pada lansia, sementara aktivitas fisik berperan penting dalam pemeliharaan fungsi paru. Oleh karena itu, pemeriksaan fungsi paru pada lansia sangat penting untuk mengevaluasi kesehatan pernapasan sehingga intervensi yang tepat dapat dilakukan lebih awal guna meningkatkan kualitas hidup. Program pemeriksaan fungsi paru pada komunitas olahraga pernapasan Abhinaya ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak olahraga pernapasan terhadap fungsi paru anggota komunitas, serta mengidentifikasi hubungan antara usia, riwayat kesehatan, kebiasaan merokok, aktivitas fisik, dan paparan polusi dengan nilai peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) sebelum dan setelah pelaksanaan olahraga pernapasan. Pemeriksaan yang dilakukan meliputi penilaian PEFR menggunakan peak flow meter (PFM), serta pengukuran tekanan darah, saturasi oksigen, dan antropometri, disertai dengan pendataan riwayat kesehatan subjek melalui kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan hubungan antara faktor risiko dan nilai PEFR. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa olahraga pernapasan memberikan dampak positif terhadap fungsi paru, dengan peningkatan rata-rata PEFR dari 309,15 L/menit (SD=73,65) sebelum olahraga menjadi 321,89 L/menit (SD=70,36) setelah olahraga. Selain itu, frekuensi aktivitas fisik yang lebih tinggi dan durasi aktivitas di luar rumah menunjukkan korelasi positif dengan hasil PEFR, sementara usia berpengaruh negatif terhadap nilai PEFR. Oleh karena itu, program pemeriksaan fungsi paru disarankan untuk dilakukan secara rutin guna memantau kesehatan paru dan mendeteksi potensi gangguan pernapasan pada lansia.

ABSTRACT

 

As age increases, lung function may decline due to decreased immunity and changes in the structure and elasticity of lung tissue. Risk factors such as medical history, smoking habits, and exposure to air pollution can worsen lung health in the elderly, while physical activity plays a crucial role in maintaining lung function. Therefore, lung function assessments in older adults are essential for evaluating respiratory health, allowing for timely interventions to enhance quality of life. This lung function assessment program within the Abhinaya respiratory exercise community aims to evaluate the impact of respiratory exercise on the lung function of community members and to identify the relationship between age, health history, smoking habits, physical activity, and pollution exposure with peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) values before and after respiratory exercises. The assessments included measuring PEFR using a peak flow meter (PFM), as well as evaluating blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and anthropometry, alongside gathering health history data from subjects through questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to illustrate the relationship between risk factors and PEFR values. Results showed that respiratory exercises positively affected lung function, evidenced by an increase in average PEFR from 309.15 L/min (SD=73.65) before exercise to 321.89 L/min (SD=70.36) after exercise. Furthermore, higher frequencies of physical activity and longer durations of outdoor activity were positively correlated with PEFR results, while age negatively impacted PEFR values. Therefore, it is recommended that lung function assessment programs be conducted routinely to monitor lung health and detect potential respiratory disorders in older adults.
