Penerapan Jus Tomat dan Jus Jambu Biji untuk Meningkatkan Kadar Haemoglobin pada Remaja Putri di Desa Wanajaya Bekasi

ABSTRAK

 

Studi pendahuluan di Desa Wanajaya, wawancara 10 remaja putri, Mei 2025, diketahui bahwa mereka sering mengalami gejala saat menstruasi, sering mengalami gejala, detak jantung tidak teratur, nyeri dada, serta sesak napas. Untuk mengatasi keluhan,  mengonsumsi suplemen zat besi, istirahat, serta meningkatkan asupan cairan.Faktor utama penyebab anemia pada remaja putri adalah pola makan tidak sehat, status gizi, dan siklus menstruasi. Anemia dapat menurunkan daya tahan tubuh dan meningkatkan risiko masalah kesehatan.Kondisi ini perlu perhatian khusus karena meningkatkan risiko kematian ibu, kelahiran prematur, dan BBLR. Anemia masih menjadi masalah serius di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia dan Bangladesh. Kegiatan ini dirancang sebagai upaya nyata dalam memberikan solusi praktis untuk mencegah dan mengatasi masalah anemia pada remaja putri. Anemia masih menjadi salah satu gangguan kesehatan yang sering dijumpai, terutama karena rendahnya asupan gizi penting seperti zat besi dan vitamin C yang berperan dalam pembentukan hemoglobin. Metode ceramah dengan Alat/media yang digunakan berupa video dan poster cara melakukan pembuatan jus tonat dan jus jambu biji , leafleat dan PPT yang terkait materi yang akan disampaikan dalam kegiatan PKM tersebut. Pada saat kegiatan, remaja putri memahami dengan baik terkait pentingnya jus tomat dan jus jambu biji. Kegiatan evaluasi dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2025 dengan sasaran remaja putri yang sudah mengkonsumsi jus tomat dan jus jambu biji dengan melakukan cek ulang pemeriksaan kadar haemoglobin (Hb). Pengetahuan dan wawasan remaja putri bertambah terkait pentingnya mengkonsumsi jus tomat dan jambu biji.

ABSTRACT

 

A preliminary study conducted in Wanajaya Village in June 2025, through interviews with ten adolescent girls, revealed that many of them frequently experienced symptoms during menstruation. These included irregular heartbeat, chest pain, and shortness of breath. To relieve these discomforts, most reported relying on iron supplements, getting sufficient rest, and increasing fluid intake.The primary factors contributing to anemia among adolescent girls were identified as poor dietary habits, inadequate nutritional status, and menstrual cycles. Anemia not only weakens the immune system but also increases vulnerability to various health issues. This condition requires serious attention, as it is linked to greater risks of maternal mortality, preterm birth, and low birth weight (LBW). Alarmingly, anemia continues to be a major public health concern in many developing countries, including Indonesia and BangladeshThis program was designed as a concrete effort to provide practical solutions for preventing and addressing anemia among adolescent girls. Anemia remains one of the most common health issues in this age group, largely due to insufficient intake of essential nutrients such as iron and vitamin C, both of which play a vital role in the production of hemoglobin. The lecture method was supported by various media tools, including instructional videos and posters demonstrating how to prepare tomato and guava juice, as well as leaflets and PowerPoint presentations that complemented the material delivered during the community service program. During the activity, the adolescent girls gained a clear understanding of the importance of consuming tomato and guava juice. The evaluation phase was carried out in May 2025, targeting those who had already incorporated these juices into their diet. As part of the assessment, their hemoglobin (Hb) levels were re-checked to monitor any improvements. The adolescent girls gained broader knowledge and deeper awareness of the benefits of consuming tomato and guava juice for their health.
