Pelatihan Kader Deteksi Dini Kanker Payudara untuk Memberdayakan Masyarakat di Desa Suka Maju
Sari

ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among women worldwide, including Indonesia. Most cases are detected at an advanced stage due to low public awareness of breast self-examination. Data from the Muaro Jambi Health Office recorded seven suspected cases of breast cancer, with two cases originating from Suka Maju Village. This situation highlights the urgency of community-based interventions through capacity building for health cadres. This community service activity aims to empower health cadres as the spearhead of early detection of breast cancer. The methods used include education, training, and demonstrations of techniques for Training Health Cadres in Early Detection of Breast Cancer to empower the community in Suka Maju Village, Mestong District, Muaro Jambi Regency, and Clinical Breast Examination using modules, audiovisual media, and breast phantoms. There were 30 cadres participating in the training. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests to assess the improvement in knowledge and skills. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement: before the training, only 43.3% of cadres were in the good knowledge category, while after the training, this figure increased to 89%. In addition, the cadres demonstrated practical skills in performing breast examination demonstrations and health communication skills to educate the community. These findings confirm that cadre training is effective in improving community readiness to detect breast cancer at an early stage. Health cadre training has been proven to contribute to increasing community capacity in breast cancer promotion and prevention efforts. Similar interventions need to be expanded to other regions in order to reduce the rate of late diagnosis and increase patient survival rates.
