ABSTRACT

Facing emerging diseases in areas with the potential for outbreaks/outbreaks with a high threat category, efforts are needed to increase the capacity of health workers as the frontline in providing health services to communities affected by health problems. This activity was carried out in February 2025 through a socialization method for health workers in 14 community health centers in the Palu City working area and the Anutapura Palu Regional Hospital. Health worker capacity was assessed based on policies, disaster education, and disaster information as strengthening factors that influence health worker capacity. Respondent assessments based on the percentage of all question items were still below 80%, indicating that efforts to strengthen the capacity of health workers in handling emerging diseases have not been optimally implemented in Palu City. Providing socialization to health workers facing emerging diseases is the first step in increasing health worker capacity.
