Upaya Peningkatan Pengetahuan Masyarakat Tentang Pertolongan Pertama Pada Luka Bakar Melalui Pendekatan Focus Group Discussion Di Kelompok Dasa Wisma Perumahan Graha Majapahit Kabupaten Mojokerto

Luka bakar tidak hanya dapat menimbulkan kematian, akan tetapi juga dapat menimbulkan morbiditas dengan angka yang cukup tinggi. Berdasarkan fenomena yang masih banyak ditemukan di masyarakat bahwa masih terdapat beberapa perilaku masyarakat yang kurang tepat dalam memberikan pertolongan pertama pada luka bakar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pertolongan pertama pada luka bakar. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan focus group discussion dan pendidikan kesehatan. Materi pendidikan kesehatan mencakup tentang definisi, penyebab, tanda dan gejala yang muncul, dan tata cara perawatan dan pengobatan, serta upaya pencegahan luka bakar. Khalayak sasaran dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terdiri dari 11 orang wanita di Kelompok Dasa Wisma Perumahan Graha Majapahit Kabupaten Mojokerto. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah seluruh peserta menyatakan kegiatan ini sangat menarik dan bermanfaat untuk mengetahui tentang definisi, penyebab, tanda dan gejala yang muncul, dan tata cara perawatan dan pengobatan, serta upaya pencegahan luka bakar. Dari hasil kegiatan didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta sebelumnya memiliki pengetahuan cukup, yaitu 7 orang (64%), setelah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan dan focus group discussion hampir seluruhnya peserta memiliki pengetahuan baik 10 orang (91%). Keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pedoman bagi masyarakat untuk melakukan tindakan mandiri pertolongan pertama dan pencegahan luka bakar.

ABSTRACT

 

Burns can’t only cause death, but also can cause morbidity with a high rate. Based on the phenomenon that is still widely found in the community, there are still some societal behaviors that are not quite right in providing first aid to burns. This community service activity aim to increase public knowledge about first aid for burns. The community service method used a focus group discussion approach and health education. Health education materials include definitions, causes, signs and symptoms that appear, and procedures for treatment and treatment, as well as burn prevention efforts. The target audience in this community service activity consisted of 11 women in the Kelompok Dasa Wisma Perumahan Graha Majapahit Kabupaten Mojokerto. The results obtained were that all participants stated that this activity was very interesting and useful to find out about the definition, causes, signs and symptoms that appeared, and procedures for treatment and treatment, as well as efforts to prevent burns. From the results of the activity, it was found that most of the participants previously had sufficient knowledge, namely 7 people (64%). After health education and focus group discussions were conducted, almost all participants had good knowledge of 10 people (91%). The success of this activity is expected to become a guideline for the community to take independent first aid and burn prevention measures.
