Health-Education sebagai Upaya Preventif Pandemic Covid-19 pada Anak

ABSTRAK

 

Pandemi COVID-19 berdampak pada semua aspek dan penyebaran virus corona ini sangat cepat pada berbagai tahapan usia. Oleh karena itu harus  segera untuk ditangani secara bersama-sama. usia anak-anak sangat rentan terinfeksi Covid-19. Salah satu strategi penting yang dapat diterapkan pada anak usia sekolah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku preventif pencegahan penularan COVID-19 melalui health education. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah untuk memberikan promosi kesehatan tentang pentingnya melakukan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian COVID-19dengan menerapkan Pola Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS). Metode kegiatan PKM ini berupa pemberian edukasi dan demonstrasiyang dilakukan secara tatap muka dengan tetap menerapkan protocol kesehatan ketat. Peserta pada pelaksanaan kegiatan ini sejumlah 25 anak dari TK sampai kelas 6 SD. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan rata-rata pengetahuan dengan hasil pretest dari 76,50 menjadi 95 pada posttest dengan nilai uji efektifitas kegiatan p-value sebesar 0.000 setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM, dan ada peningkatan kemampuan keterampilan anak-anak sekitar 80% dalam mempraktekkan tehnik cuci tangan 7 langkah secara baik dan benar. Edukasi pada anak sangat penting dilakukan sebagai upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian COVID-19 dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan perilaku anak.

ABSTRACT

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on all aspects and the spread of this corona virus is very fast at various stages of age. Therefore it must be immediately addressed together. The age of children is very vulnerable to being infected with Covid-19. One of the important strategies that can be applied to school-age children is to increase knowledge and preventive behavior to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 through health education. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) is to provide health promotion about the importance of preventing and controlling COVID-19 by implementing a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). This PKM activity method is in the form of providing education and demonstrations that are carried out face-to-face while still implementing strict health protocols. Participants in the implementation of this activity were 25 children from kindergarten to grade 6 SD. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average knowledge with the pretest result from 76.50 to 95 in the posttest with a p-value of 0.000 activity effectiveness test after the implementation of PKM activities, and there was an increase in the ability of children's skills about 80% in practicing washing techniques. hand 7 steps properly and correctly. Education for children is very important as an effort to prevent and control COVID-19 which is considered effective in increasing children's awareness and behavior.
