ABSTRACT

The acceptance of booster vaccines in the community is still low. The low acceptance of boosters in the community is associated with the safety level, efficacy and side effects of the vaccine that can be experienced. This study aims to identify community perception of receiving the COVID-19 boosters in the Coastal Areas of West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The research design used in this study was descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional study approach. A total of 90 respondents involved in this study were selected randomly, where the proportion of each respondent was selected based on the achievement of receipts advanced vaccines in the region. The statistical test used in this study is the chi square test. The results of this study most of the respondents had a basic education level of 30%, 62,2% female, 12,2% history of being infected with Covid-19, 55,6% not working, 53,3% the distance between home and vaccination service centre is more than 1 km. The results of the perception analysis with vaccination status obtained a value of p = 0.029 (<0.05). People who have a good perception of the COVID-19 vaccine choose to receive the follow-up vaccine to prevent transmission of COVID-19

ABSTRAK

Penerimaan vaksin lanjutan pada masyarakat masih rendah. Rendahnya penerimaan vaksin lanjutan pada masyakat dikaitkan dengan tingkat keamanan vaksin, kemanjuran vaksin dan efek samping vaksin yang dapat dialami. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi masyarakat dalam penerimaan vaksin COVID-19 lanjutan di Wilayah Pesisir Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.  Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan studi cross-sectional. Sebanyak 90 responden terlibat dalam penelitian ini dipilih secara random, dimana proporsi setiap respoden dipilih berdasarkan pada capaian penerimaan vaksin lanjutan di wilayah tersebut. Uji statistik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah chi squere test. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan sebagian responden berpendidikan SD sebanyak 30%, perempuan 62,2%, sebagian pernah terinfeksi COVID-19 yaitu 12,2%, sebagian dari mereka tidak bekerja 55,6%, dan jarak rumah dengan sentral pelayanan vaksin lebih dari 1 km yaitu 53,3%. Hasil analisis persepsi dengan status vaksinasi diperoleh nilai p= 0,029 (< 0,05). Masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi yang baik tentang vaksin COVID-19 memilih menerima vaksin lanjutan untuk mencegah penularan COVID-19.
