Peran Nigella Sativa Linn. Dalam Mukositis Oral Yang Diinduksi Oleh Kemoradioterapi : Literature Review

Abstract


Chemoradiation Induced Oral Mucositis (CIOM), merupakan peradangan atau luka lecet di sekitar rongga mulut yang disebabkan oleh efek kemoterapi dan radioterapi. Kemoradioterapi menimbulkan gejala klinis diantaranya nyeri, peradangan, disfagia, diare, penurunan berat badan drastis, dan infeksi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya pencegahan dan pilihan pengobatan CIOM yang aman dan efektif. Nigella Sativa Linn adalah jintan hitam yang dikenal memiliki sifat anti inflamasi, analgesik, antioksidan, pelindung saraf, pelindung saluran cerna, dan khasiat lainya. Tinjauan literatur ini diidentifikasi menggunakan metode pencarian komprehensif pada basis data elektronik termasuk metodologi uji klinis dengan memasukan kata kunci “kemoterapi”;  “mukositis oral”; “Nigella Sativa”; “radiasi”. Kata kunci ini digunakan untuk mencari artikel terkait melalui website: Pubmed, Scopus, dan Google Scholar. Hasil penelitian menyatakan terdapat peran Nigella Sativa Linn (NSL) terhadap mukositis oral akibat terapi onkologi kemoradioterapi. Didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa NSL  memiliki senyawa aktif thymoquinone yang bertindak sebagai imunomodulator dan anti inflamasi yang efektif dengan menekan sitokin proinflamasi, sehingga NSL secara signifikan dapat membantu meringankan gejala mukositis oral akibat kemoradioterapi.
