Implementasi Prenatal Yoga menggunakan Gym Ball untuk Mengurangi Low Back Pain Pada Kehamilan

ABSTRAK

Pendahuluan: Tingginya prevalensi Low Back Pain (LBP) pada kehamilan berkisar antara 24% hingga 90%. LBP merupakan salah satu ketidaknyamanan akibat perubahan fisiologis pada kehamilan, rasa nyeri akan semangkin meningkat seiring bertambahnya usia kehamilan. Hal tersebut dapat berdampak pada penurunan mobilitas fisik, penurunan kualitas tidur, isolasi sosial dan reaksi emosional, serta peningkatan stress psikologis. Prenatal yoga merupakan salah satu penangan non farmakologi yang dapat diberikan untuk mengurangi LBP dengan cara memperkuat otot punggung, meningkatkan fleksibilitas, memperbaiki postur tubuh, dan membantu tubuh lebih relaks, serta minim efek samping bagi kehamilan. Tujuan: Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan prenatal yoga sebagai upaya untuk menangani LBP pada kehamilan. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pretest dan postest mengenai persepsi nyeri, penyuluhan dengan penyampaian materi LBP dan prenatal yoga, serta diikuti dengan demonstrasi gerakan prenatal yoga yang dipandu instruktur berlisensi. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa ibu hamil mengalami penurunan intensitas nyeri punggung bawah setelah mengikuti sesi prenatal yoga dengan gymball, yang membantu mengurangi ketegangan otot, meningkatkan fleksibilitas, dan memperbaiki postur tubuh. Kesimpulan: Prenatal yoga dengan gymball efektif mengurangi LBP pada ibu hamil, sekaligus meningkatkan keseimbangan, fleksibilitas, dan kesejahteraan psikologis, menjadikannya alternatif aman dan holistik untuk manajemen nyeri.
