ABSTRACT

Rheumatoid arthritis can cause disability and decreased productivity. If inflammation is not controlled, it can damage cartilage, the elastic tissue that covers the ends of bones in joints, and also attack the bones. Joints can become loose, unstable, painful and lose mobility. Joint deformity may occur, resulting in damage. This requires efforts to recognize signs and symptoms and treat rheumatoid arthritis. The aim of the activity is to disseminate health education to the community so that they know the signs and symptoms of rheumatic disease and can carry out self-care. The method used is through providing information through outreach in the form of health education to community members through audio-visual media and leaflets. The results of Health Education showed significant changes before and after health education, namely that the average participant experienced an increase in knowledge (pretest: 45, average posttest: 82). The conclusion shows that participants experienced increased knowledge about rheumatism and its management.
