ABSTRACT
Acceptance of the covid-19 vaccine is still a challenge for the government. Many people do not want to be vaccinated for various reasons such as not wanting to be vaccinated because vaccines cause deadly side effects, vaccines are not halal, or vaccines cause COVID-19. Our preliminary survey of five people in the community showed that overall they had not carried out the Covid-19 vaccination for reasons that were not too important, they were still healthy, vaccines could cause unwanted side effects. This perception can arise because people do not understand the purpose of giving vaccines, lack of information and the circulation of inaccurate information also causes people's understanding of vaccines to be wrong. To increase the knowledge of the elderly about booster vaccinations in coastal areas. The method for this community service activity is lecture, discussion and question and answer for 45 minutes relating to problems and obstacles regarding receiving booster vaccinations in coastal areas. The results of the evaluation of the implementation of community service activities showed that the activity participants were enthusiastic and active. The final evaluation results showed that most participants understood about booster vaccination with a sufficient level of knowledge of 60%. Health education, discussions and questions and answers increase public knowledge about booster vaccinations for the elderly in coastal areas. Knowledge is the basis for decision making for the elderly to choose to participate or not participate in the implementation of vaccination activities
