Pemberdayaan Kader Kesehatan melalui Implementasi Inovasi Gelis Jiwa untuk Penanganan Kesehatan Jiwa dan Pencegahan Bunuh Diri

ABSTRAK
Kesehatan jiwa dan tingginya angka bunuh diri terus menjadi isu di masyarakat. Kelurahan Baurung, dengan tantangan sosial dan ekonomi yang ada, menghadapi peningkatan kasus gangguan kesehatan jiwa dan risiko bunuh diri. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan kader kesehatan dalam menangani masalah ini melalui penerapan inovasi GELIS JIWA (Generasi Peduli Sehat Jiwa). GELIS JIWA merupakan pendekatan berbasis komunitas yang berfokus pada peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan peran aktif kader kesehatan dalam upaya pencegahan dan penanganan kesehatan jiwa di tingkat lokal. Melalui pemberdayaan, program ini membekali kader kesehatan dengan pengetahuan tentang deteksi dini gejala gangguan jiwa, intervensi pertama, serta langkah-langkah pencegahan bunuh diri. Kader kesehatan diajak untuk melakukann sosialisasi dan edukasi kepada masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan jiwa dan mendukung individu yang rentan. Hasil dari program ini adalah peningkatan kapasitas kader kesehatan dalam menangani masalah kesehatan jiwa, pengurangan stigma terhadap penderita gangguan jiwa, serta pencegahan bunuh diri di Kelurahan Baurung. GELIS JIWA diharapkan dapat menjadi model yang berkelanjutan untuk diterapkan di wilayah lain, dan berkontribusi pada terciptanya masyarakat yang lebih sehat jiwa dan mental.

ABSTRACT
Mental health issues and the rising suicide rates remain significant concerns in society. Baurung Village, facing various social and economic challenges, has experienced an increase in mental health disorders and suicide risks. This community service program aims to empower health cadres to address these issues through the implementation of GELIS JIWA, a community-based innovation focused on enhancing the knowledge, skills, and active roles of health cadres in preventing and managing mental health problems at the local level. This empowerment initiative equips health cadres with the ability to detect early symptoms of mental disorders, provide initial interventions, and implement suicide prevention strategies. Additionally, health cadres are encouraged to conduct community outreach and education to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and support vulnerable individuals. The outcomes of this program include improved capacity of health cadres in managing mental health issues, reduced stigma associated with mental illness, and decreased suicide risks in Baurung Village. Consequently, GELIS JIWA is expected to become a sustainable model that can be adopted in other regions, contributing to the creation of a mentally and emotionally healthier society.
