Pemeriksaan Kesehatan Gratis sebagai Upaya Deteksi Dini Faktor Risiko Penyakit Tidak Menular Pada Acara Fun Run Kota Pariaman
Sari

ABSTRACT
Fun run activities, as a form of mass sport, have significant potential to support the early detection of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through free health screenings integrated with the promotion of an active lifestyle. Given the high prevalence of hypertension and diabetes in Indonesia, health checks at fun run events represent a relevant preventive intervention to enhance public health awareness and literacy. To improve public health by facilitating early detection of NCD risk factors and providing accessible education to participants. Examinations were conducted using promotive and preventive approaches, including health education, measurements of BMI, blood pressure, and blood sugar, individual counseling, and simple post-examination support. A total of 200 participants underwent the examinations. The majority were found to be in normal condition; however, 18% exhibited elevated blood pressure, and 10% had high blood sugar levels. Participants with abnormal results received further education on healthy lifestyles and NCD prevention. Overall, participant feedback was very positive, as the activity helped them understand their health status before and after exercising. This activity is effective for the early detection of NCD risk factors and community-based promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Routine implementation, expansion of screening types, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration are essential for the program’s sustainability.
