ABSTRACT

The lack of understanding among health cadres and the community regarding stroke risk factors and first aid, as well as the absence of early detection efforts, along with limitations in workforce, budget, and facilities, remain significant challenges. Therefore, training, supporting facilities, and educational media are required to enable cadres to play an optimal role in stroke prevention and risk control. This program aimed to enhance the capacity of cadres in raising stroke awareness through training and the provision of supporting facilities. The implementation of activities was carried out through socialization, training, technology application, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge, with an average pre-test score of 13.03 and a post-test score of 17.80 (p-value < 0.05). In addition, 80% of cadres demonstrated improved skills in increasing stroke awareness, and 75% of cadres and Prolanis participants reported that the SIGAP Stroke application was easily accessible, informative, and received positive responses with a high level of satisfaction. The implementation of the SIGAP Stroke application and the use of early detection tools proved effective in increasing knowledge and skills of cadres in conducting independent early detection, as well as gaining positive responses from the community, particularly cadres and Prolanis participants.
