Sari

ABSTRACT
NCDs are not only a clinical problem, but also a public health problem that requires a promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative approach in a sustainable manner. The burden of NCDs does not only have an impact on individuals, but also on families and communities. This community service activity aims to increase public awareness and knowledge about non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and DM, including risk factors, prevention, and management. The method of activity is carried out through a series of activities starting with hypertension gymnastics, followed by health education/counseling, and ending with NCD screening which includes blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid checks. Evaluation of activities was carried out using pre-test and post-test to assess changes in participants' knowledge before and after education. The results of the evaluation showed an increase of ≥80% of participants experienced a minimum 20% increase in scores from pretest to post-test. In addition to the increase in scores, the results of the activity also showed that ≥80% of participants achieved a post-test score of ≥75 and 100% of participants participated in screening activities. The results of the activity show that GEMA PTM make a positive contribution to increasing health literacy and community participation in NCD prevention efforts. The integration of activities with PTM Posbindu, health cadres, and health centers will strengthen the sustainability of the program
