ABSTRACT

The use of digital media through an Android application aimed to improve sustainable digital health literacy by implementing a self-assessment risk evaluation at the Telaga Dewa Community Health Center to increase the coverage of cervical cancer screening. Data showed that the coverage of early cervical cancer detection through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) examinations at the Telaga Dewa Community Health Center was still very low and remained far below the national target of 80%. The screening coverage reached only 0.6% in 2024, and only 50 women underwent screening examinations in 2025. Therefore, a digital-based screening innovation was needed to increase the participation of women of reproductive age in early cervical cancer detection. The program used a digital education approach designed to improve the knowledge, awareness, and screening behavior of women of reproductive age by providing educational materials on cervical cancer risk factors, signs and symptoms, HPV vaccination, and a self-risk assessment guide. The program involved healthcare professionals and community health cadres in educational sessions and participant mentoring. In addition, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted to assess changes in participants' knowledge following the intervention. The results showed that the implementation of digital-based education increased the knowledge of women of reproductive age by 80%. The findings indicated that digital-based education was an effective strategy for improving early cervical cancer detection. It was recommended that this program be continued with support from the government and healthcare professionals to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with cervical cancer.
