GAMBARAN PEMILIHAN PASANGAN HIDUP (MATE SELECTION) PEREMPUAN DEWASA AWAL DITINJAU DARI KETERLIBATAN AYAH

Abstrak

Salah satu tugas perkembangan perempuan dewasa awal adalah memilih pasangan hidup. Ayah merupakan sosok laki-laki pertama yang dikenali oleh anak perempuan, sehingga ayah dianggap menjadi pedoman perempuan dalam berinteraksi laki-laki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pemilihan pasangan hidup perempuan dewasa awal ditinjau dari keterlibatan ayah. Kriteria responden penelitian ini adalah perempuan dewasa awal berusia 21-30 tahun yang belum menikah dan pernah tinggal serta diasuh oleh ayah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah tiga orang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis tematik yaitu data driven. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa peran dan keterlibatan ayah serta keharmonisan keluarga berdampak pada pemilihan pasangan hidup perempuan. Terdapat perempuan yang menginginkan pasangan yang seperti ayah dan perempuan yang tidak menginginkan pasangan seperti ayah. Hal ini kemudian berdampak pada penundaan pernikahan akibat kriteria pasangan yang belum sesuai dengan keinginan responden. Implikasi pada penelitian ini adalah bagi orang tua, khususnya ayah, diharapkan mampu mengembangkan hubungan yang sehat dengan anak perempuan sehingga anak perempuan memiliki pedoman dalam memilih laki-laki yang baik untuk dijadikan pasangan hidup. Proses pemilihan pasangan hidup yang baik juga akan berpengaruh pada kehidupan pernikahan anak perempuan.

Abstract

One of the developmental tasks of early adult women is choosing a life partner. Father is the first male figure that is recognized by daughters, so the father is considered to be a guide for women in interacting with men. This study aims to describe the selection of a life partner for early adult women in terms of father involvement. The criteria for this research subject were early adult women aged 21-30 years who were unmarried and had lived and been cared for by their father. The research method used is a qualitative method with case study approach. Data collection techniques using semi-structured interviews. Respondents in this study were three women. Data analysis techniques use thematic analysis techniques, namely data driven. The results of the data analysis show that the role and involvement of the father and family harmony have an impact on the mate selection of a woman's life. There are women who want a partner who is like a father and women who don’t want a partner like a father. This then has an impact on delaying marriage due to partner criteria that are not in accordance with the wishes of the subject. The implication of this research is that parents, especially fathers, are expected to be able to develop healthy relationships with their daughters so that girls have guidelines in choosing a good man to be their life partner. The process of selecting a good life partner will also affect the married life of daughters.
