Flourishing Mahasiswa Ditinjau dari Self Compassion

Abstrak

Flourishing adalah keadaan seseorang dalam mencapai perkembangan dan berfungsi secara optimal. Self compassion artinya berbelas kasih pada diri sendiri yang ditujukan melalui kebaikan dan pemahaman terhadap diri sendiri, kemampuan melihat pengalaman diri sebagai pengalaman kemanusiaan yang luas, dan mindfulness. Mahasiswa diharapkan memiliki self compassion yang baik yang dapat berkontribusi terhadap tingkat flourishingnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat apakah flourishing mahasiswa dapat dipengaruhi oleh self compassion. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan metode analisis korelasi product moment. Populasi dari penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Malahayati dengan sampel 168 mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian didapatkan adanya hubungan positif antara self compassion dengan flourishing mahasiswa, yaitu semakin tinggi self compassion maka semakin tinggi flourishing. Hasil penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa self compassion memiliki pengaruh sebesar 30,5% terhadap flourishing mahasiswa. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada upaya peningkatan self compassion untuk meningkatkan flourishing mahasiswa.

Abstract

Flourishing is a person's state of achieving optimal development and functioning. Self-compassion means having compassion for oneself which is aimed at through kindness and understanding towards oneself, the ability to see one's own experience as a broad human experience, and mindfulness. Students are expected to have good self-compassion which can contribute to their level of flourishing. The aim of this research is to see whether student flourishing can be influenced by self-compassion. The research method uses quantitative methods with product moment correlation analysis methods. The population of this study were Malahayati University students with a sample of 168 students. The research results obtained a positive relationship between self-compassion and student flourishing, namely the higher the self-compassion, the higher the flourishing. The results of this research also found that self-compassion has an influence of 30.5% on student flourishing. This research has implications for efforts to increase self-compassion to increase student flourishing.
