ABSTRACT: CHILDBIRTH ANXIETY AND ITS THE FACTORS IN PREGNANT WOMEN DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Anxiety is one of the psychological problems experienced by pregnant women before delivery. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the anxiety level may increase since pregnant women are are at risk for moresevere symptoms if they are infected with Covid-19. Several internal and external variables of pregnant women can strengthen and reduce the anxiety level. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the anxiety of pregnant women facing childbirth. This study was a cross sectional study conducted on 59 pregnant women in Rajadesa District. Data were obtained by using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) to measure anxiety, husband's support scale, childbirth knowledge, and respondents characteristic questionnaire. The data obtained were then processed by multiple regression analysis. The results showed that knowledge about childbirth, parity, and husband's support simultaneously affect the anxiety of pregnant women before delivery. But partially, only knowledge and parity have an effect on anxiety. Parity is the main predictor that affects the anxiety of pregnant women before delivery. The implication and limitation of study are discussed in discussion section.
