ABSTRACT: RELIGIOSITY AND RESILLIENCE IN NURSES IN TIMIKA PAPUA DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

 

The COVID-19 pandemic can harm nurses and lead to psychological problems when providing services to COVID-19 patients because nurses are the most frequently in contact with COVID-19 patients. To be able to carry out their duties, nurses must have resilience and religiosity to be able to survive, behave and act following the teachings of their religion. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and resilience in nurses in Timika Papua during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational design. Participants in the study was 34 nurses, obtained using the purposive sampling technique. The scale used consists of a religiosity scale and a resilience scale. The results showed a significant positive relationship between religiosity and resilience in nurses in Timika Papua. Nurses in Timika Papua can increase good resilience in dealing with COVID-19 patients because they have a high value of religiosity in their lives.

Pandemi COVID-19 dapat berdampak negatif bagi perawat dan dapat memunculkan masalah psikologis saat memberikan pelayanan terhadap pasien COVID-19, karena perawat yang paling sering berkontak dengan pasien COVID-19. Untuk dapat menjalankan tugasnya, perawat harus memiliki resiliensi dan religiositas agar mampu bertahan, bertingkah laku dan bersikap sesuai dengan ajaran agama yang dianutnya. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara religiositas dengan resiliensi pada perawat di Timika Papua di masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Partisipan dalam penelitian berjumlah 34 orang, dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Skala yang digunakan terdiri dari skala religiositas dan skala resiliensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara religiositas dengan resiliensi pada perawat di Timika Papua. Perawat di Timika Papua mampu meningkatkan resiliensi yang baik dalam menangani pasien COVID-19 karena memiliki nilai religiositas yang tinggi dalam hidupnya.
