Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior among Generation Z has emerged as a growing concern, particularly due to the widespread access to digital media and the heightened social pressures that shape adolescent sexual decision-making. This research aimed to examine the association between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and Psychological Well-being (PWB) with premarital sexual behavior among Generation Z adolescents in Sikka Regency. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 400 high school students selected through purposive sampling. Data were gathered using the Fear of Missing Out Scale, the Psychological Well-being Scale, and the Premarital Sexual Permissiveness Scale. Statistical analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation and OLS regression with bootstrapping techniques. The findings revealed that FoMO and PWB together exerted a significant simultaneous influence on premarital sexual behavior. Specifically, FoMO demonstrated a significant positive correlation with premarital sexual behavior, whereas PWB did not show a significant association. The practical implication of this study includes the implementation of school-based psychoeducation programs that emphasize FoMO management and digital literacy, rather than focusing exclusively on enhancing Psychological Well-being.
